Just like every other well-heeled girl, we wish we were in Paris for Paris Couture Week. So many of the looks we've seen this week are perfect for the fashion-forward Indian bride who knows her one opportunity to wear haute couture and be the center of attention is at her reception. Take a look at some of our favorite, heart-stopping designs from Elie Saab's Spring/Summer 2015 couture collection. We're thinking the short dresses would be amazing for your engagement party or ring ceremony, while the gowns would be perfect for a second--or only--reception option.
We finally saw some sunshine this weekend, and it made us crave spring more than we already were. Add in Manish Malhotra's latest couture collection, and we're dreaming of warm weather, pink peonies, jasmine flowers, and fields of green. We like to think of Manish Malhotra as one of the three holy fathers of Indian couture--along with Sabyasachi and Tarun Tahiliani, of course--and this year is no different. Pops of color, silk georgette, resham and mirror work have us begging for more this season from Malhotra. Some of these lighter looks are perfect for your engagement party, ring ceremony, mehendi or sangeet, while the heavily embroidered lehengas are perfect for your wedding couture. Check out some of our favorite looks below!

Indian wedding invitations have always stood apart from American wedding invitations, but after awhile, they all start to seem the same. Ganesh? Check. Artistic Om? Check. Multiple cards for a week of festivities? Check. Your wedding invitation sets the tone for your entire wedding, and what better way to elevate your event to the wedding of the year than with dramatic invitations? One of our absolute favorite ways to do that is with a laser cut invitation. Because they are so delicate and ornate, laser cut invitations are formal enough for an Indian wedding, and often contain motifs that can be carried through your wedding. Of course, you can always work with the best in the business like Ceci New York, Lehr & Black, and Atelier Isabey to customize your own! Of course, you'll have to work with your designer to get the right number of cards for each of your events. Here are a few of our favorite luxury laser cut invitations to inspire you!
One of our most favorite floral touches to an over-the-top Indian wedding is the floral elephant. They can be anywhere from table-top-sized to the main attraction of your event. Most weddings don't go the extra mile with the flowers, and floral elephants add a touch of whimsy and a ton of luxury. Pairs of floral elephants add the perfect touch to an entry way. Green elephants remind guests of topiaries, while white ones are incredibly elegant and fuchsia elephants shock the senses. But why stop there? We're dreaming of a mango-colored elephant made of marigolds, or a light blue one made of hydrangeas! Here are some of our favorites!

One of my happiest discoveries has been Aashni + Co. Easily the most renowned luxury designer Indian boutique in the West, Aashni + Co knows exactly what the modern, high-end Indian bride who loves her culture is looking for on her wedding day. It’s no surprise, then, that they’re presenting THE Indian wedding show of the season. On January 25th at the exquisite Dorchester Hotel in London, India’s couturiers and most sought-after luxury designers will come together to present their latest collections to fashion-forward brides-to-be. The best part? You’ll have the chance to meet the designers themselves! Throw in top jewelers, florists, a wedding planning service, and you’ll be able to get quite a few things knocked off your to-do list. Designers include the trifecta of Sabyasachi, Manish Malhotra and Tarun Tahiliani, and more — this is an event you do not want to miss! Tickets are available through Aashni + Co at www.aashniandco.com and www.wslondon.com. Also, be sure to check out Aashni + Co’s boutique in Notting Hill when you’re in London!

Chanel Le Weekend, $115
I am so happy I found out about the $115 price tag on this exfoliating moisturizer after I tried it, because I already knew it was worth it! Chanel’s Le Weekend moisturizer is part of a three-product moisturizing regime and is supposed to be used on the weekend — or any two days really. I am actually so addicted to Le Weekend that I use it on most days! It contains glycolic acid for gentle exfoliation and rose water to sooth your skin and senses. The fragrance of the lotion is very light but so refreshing, and you won’t be able to stop touching your face after just one use. I find that my skin feels renewed, hydrated, and supple after every use, and the feeling lasts all day. Plus, the bottle is so sleek and contains 1.7 ounces, so it’s the perfect addition to your bathroom counter and your travel bag.
If you’re anything like me, you have your favorite cosmetics lines and your go-to products, and you dream of unlimited funds at Sephora. I am set in my ways, and didn’t expect to be blown away by a new product line. Enter Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte is the makeup artist to the stars (dare I say our generation’s Kevyn Aucoin?) and has developed her pseudonymous line after looks she has created for her most famous clients. I jumped on the chance to try some of the products while at Bergdorf Goodman in New York last October, and my mom and I accidentally ended up buying almost the whole line! Buyers’ remorse never kicked in — this stuff is amazing. All of it. I’ve already gotten my fabulous aunt and best friend in London hooked on it and have gifted it to two of my best friends for their birthdays. Because Charlotte Tilbury is so phenomenal, we will be doing a separate post on the line but couldn’t make a list of our favorite finds in 2014 without a mention!
Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate, $85
Ok, let me start by saying that I’m a 20-something and don’t have any wrinkles but like many other 20-somethings, I’ve been trying to find an eye cream that is preventative, not one that fixes fine lines, wrinkles, etc. I asked for a sample of Fresh's Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate at Sephora and was hooked in one night. I washed my face, dabbed this eye concentrate underneath my eyes and went to sleep. When I woke up and looked in the mirror, I looked different! I swear. The eye concentrate reduced puffiness under my eyes that I didn’t even know were a problem! The concentrate smells great, never feels greasy, and lasts forever. I’ve used it every morning and night, and let a few other people try it, and I don’t think I’m even a quarter through. This definitely justifies the $85 per container!
Nars Highlighting Blush in Albatross, $30
I know, right? A white blush. But seriously, Albatross is definitely one of my favorite finds this year. I’ve never really been into highlighters because I feel like they’re either too glittery, too shimmery, or overall just cheesy. I tried this on at Sephora and was instantly hooked. It has a golden sheen to it and contains no glitter. Albatross elegantly adds the perfect dimension to your cheeks, forehead, nose, and cupid’s bow.I’ve even used it over my blush on big nights out and have gotten so many compliments. If you’re looking for a warm glow and the perfect highlight, this one’s for you!
