I was lucky enough to meet Sol and Ellen last week at their showroom / studio in Los Angeles when I stopped by just for a look. They were so wonderful and sweet, and I couldn't believe Ellen spent so much time with me when I asked about Indian or multicultural invitations! Thus began my obsession with the new Mr. and Mrs. Justin and Shanna McCabe's wedding invitation suite and fairytale wedding.
Justin and Shanna got married this weekend at The Plaza (aka wedding mecca) after several days of wedding celebrations. Each event had its own beautiful invitation, which we got to see in person at Lehr & Black. The Save the Date was so glamorous: on one side was a painting of the couple and their dogs on the iconic front steps of The Plaza, and on the other was the Save the Date info in beautiful gold writing. The Pakistani welcome dinner was all beautiful oranges and pinks, in keeping with the round orange and fuchsia invitation. We love how Lehr & Black highlighted the culture while still executing an incredibly glamorous invitation!
Shanna honored her favorite ladies with breakfast at Tiffany -- yes, literally -- so naturally, the invitations for this event were Tiffany themed, including the necklace that Shanna would be wearing at the breakfast. The rehearsal dinner was on Shanna's yacht named "Kismet," and the invitations completely played on this. My favorite part of this invitation was the reply card that said "Yes, it's meant to be" and "Sorry, not in the stars." Now, I've always maintained that my significant other and I met single-handedly due to kismet, so it's not shocking that I would love this. There were a number of fateful events that led us to each other, but the highlight is that we lived in the same apartment building and got locked out at the exact same moment and met in the stairwell! You can see why I can't wait to incorporate these witty reply options for one of our future events!
The grand finale in Shanna and Justin's glamorous invitation suite was the wedding invitation. It came inside a fairy-tale themed, jeweled box with the couple's monogram on the lid. A gorgeous, thick embossed wedding invitation sat inside, with a pocket inside the lid for additional event information. One last surprise was the brunch invitation underneath the wedding invitation for the first day of the new McCabes' happily ever after!
